Abstract

Luitgarde Barros, an anthropologist and retired professor at UFRJ and UERJ, born in the hinterland of Alagoas, on December 22, 1941, is one of the greatest intellectuals in Brazil and, certainly, one of the greatest researchers of the social and cultural universe of the northeastern hinterland. In this interview,  Barros tells us about her life trajectory, academic and intellectual training, her political-social militancy in defense of public education and her passion for the “blessed world”, a priority of her research.
