Thematic dossier: Sertão in images of cosmoperception: engravings, performances, xylography, cliché, paintings, sculptures, lithography, photographs, media advertisement and cinema

The dossier proposal for the next edition of the journal has been defined: Sertão in images of cosmoperception: engravings, performances, woodcuts, clichés, paintings, sculptures, lithographs, photographs, media propaganda and cinema. The deadline for submitting articles is November 20, 2024. The dossier's proponents are professors Túlio Pereira, Michele Alves and Renata dos Santos.

“The construction of visualities transposes the limits established by territorialities, plasticity and the geography of bodies and spaces. To imagine, to feel, to grasp, to record and to mimic the lived experience, based on the historical narrative requires multidisciplinary anchorings, following a dialogical path through different areas of knowledge. The construction of sertão, beyond a geo-historical perspective, takes place as a symbolic, semantic, ideological, artistic, cultural, semiotic, discursive and poetic construction. How to see and feel the sertão? Therefore, the space opened by this thematic dossier is to recognize the ambivalence and potential of works focused on the visualities around the construction of the sertões, thinking about the imaginaries, based on the images built in them, based on and about these ideals and country ideas, often not felt and only observed".
