THE THE IMAGINARY ABOUT BLACK PEOPLE IN BRAZILIAN FOOTBALL IN "O DRIBLE"

This article aims to analyze the reflexes that the imaginary around black people provoke in their reading role in the development of Brazilian football and, moreover, how football is represented in Brazilian literature. As much as the literature has approached the social - in the specific case of Brazil with modernism and its unfolding -, a popular element (football) does not receive, until the present days, the literary representation that here we think is worthy. Aiming to fill this space, Sérgio Rodrigues writes O Drible, a novel of which main character is football, against the the historical context background that has assumed, within the sport, a role of great importance for its development in Brazilian territory. Thus, we will seek, through the novel, to analyze and discuss about the imaginary built around the black people in Brazilian football and the relationship of this with literature.
